Chain distributor for the women's costumes of the Vikings after a find from Munsö / Sweden from the 8th-10th centuries. Century. Munsö is located in Uppland, Sweden, near the Viking settlement of Birka in Lake Mälaren.
The shape of this Viking jewelery suggests Baltic-Finnish influences, because openwork distributor plates in exactly the same design are known from several eastern sites of the Viking Age.
In the Viking Age, chain distributors were attached directly under the dish fibulae and connected them with several chains that were hung on top of one another and could reach considerable lengths.
The Viking chain distributor from Munsö was found together with a splendid chain suspension made up of five chains of different lengths and a comb pendant.
We recommend an S-hook to attach it to the shell fibula.
The distribution plate has the dimensions: 6.5 x 2.8 cm.
The chain distributors are supplied in pairs (2 pieces).
