Historical Glass Bead based on a Find from Haithabu (Hedeby)
This handmade historical glass bead is based on an archaeological find from Haithabu (Hedeby). Although discovered in Haithabu, this bead type most likely dates back to the Hallstatt D period, making it one of the earliest bead styles represented within the settlement's archaeological finds.
Its striking appearance is defined by a deep black glass body decorated with a vivid yellow wave pattern. Similar decorative motifs are known from early European glass beads and demonstrate the remarkable craftsmanship of ancient glassmakers.
Only two examples of this early bead type are known from Haithabu, making this replica a particularly rare and fascinating reproduction.
Each bead is individually handmade using premium Effetre Murano glass from Italy and carefully kiln annealed to ensure durability.
