Historical Glass Bead based on a Find from Haithabu
This handmade historical glass bead is based on an archaeological find from Haithabu (Hedeby) near Schleswig, Germany. Although discovered in Haithabu, its shape and decoration indicate that the original bead most likely dates back to the Hallstatt D period.
The bead is characterised by its dark base colour and contrasting zigzag decoration. Similar beads have been found at numerous Late Hallstatt sites across Europe, illustrating the extensive trade networks of the period.
Each bead is individually handmade over a flame and carefully annealed in a digitally controlled kiln to ensure durability.
This replica is made from premium Effetre Murano glass from Italy, renowned for its exceptional quality and vibrant colours.
Because every bead is handmade, slight variations in shape and decoration are natural and make each piece unique.
