This handcrafted replica is based on the archaeological finds from Grave 134 in the Viking Age trading town of Birka, located by Lake Mälaren in Sweden and active between the 8th and 10th centuries.
The original grave goods included:
– 6 round carnelian beads
– 29 ring-shaped glass beads, including green, blue, and undecorated variants
– 2 barrel-shaped red glass paste beads
This necklace was created in close accordance with the documented composition of the original find, with careful attention to color, shape, and materials. The beads are strung on a durable thread and are suitable for historical reenactment, living history, or simply as a unique piece of archaeologically inspired jewelry.
